Address Change Notification

This song was written by Rev. J. Michael Wilson who is a senior pastor at Iron Hill Pentecostal Church in Parsons, Tennessee.  In 1984 Rev. Wilson and his family lived in Indiana.  One evening he sat down at his piano playing a few chords when he saw a 4X6 card with three words that he began to sang, "Address Change Notification."  He stated that he could not write and play at the same time so he called for his wife who was in the kitchen at the time. In just about 15 minutes he had written one of the most beloved songs I personally believe there is.  It was just a week later that he would sing this song for his grandmother's funeral.

As born again believers we know that no matter what we are going through while here in this world, there is a place that Jesus has gone to prepare for us that where he is we shall be also.  The day and the time are soon approaching the trumpet is going to sound, and we who have made our souls ready will be called to meet him in the air.  In a moment in the twinkling of an eye we will be in a much better place for all eternity.  Oh, what chills I get just to think of my brand new home just waiting for me.  Jasper walls, streets of gold, and a gorgeous crystal river, oh and don't forget a place where we will never grow old, but most of all we will meet our blessed Savior face to face.

Rev. J Michael Wilson and his wife Joyce have three children and ten grandchildren.  He is a self-taught keyboardist from Bethlehem, Marshall County, Mississippi and the son of a preacher.  He has written numerous songs as well as played professionally with the Wilson Brothers Quartet and The McGruders.  He has produced eight solo recording projects of his own and produced and played on other projects for different artist.   He is a piano tuner by trade.  So if your piano is in need of tuning now you know who to call up.  I have added the link to his website:  http://www.wilsonpianoserv.com/.

This post is a work in progress.  Sending out a big thank you to Harold Jaco for getting me the information needed to contact Rev. M. Wilson personally who is currently sending me more information.  I appreciate him contacting me back.  If you would like to contact Rev. J Michael Wilson about receiving copies of his music please feel free to contact him personally @ (731)845-9175 (Just to note: phone number is provided by permission.)  God bless.

ADDRESS CHANGE NOTIFICATION

I.
I've been living in this world for quite a long time.
Always looking for a place to call my own.
I was never quite satisfied with what I saw down here.
So, soon I'm moving to my brand new home.

Chorus:
This is an address change notification.
Soon I'll be moving to a much better place.
There'll be no tears, no sorrow, there'll be no more pain.
This is tell you of my address change.

II.
Oh, the place where I am moving is lovely and new.
There a river flows like crystal and walls of Jasper, too.
The street in front of my house is paved with purest gold.
It's a place where we'll never grow old.

In this video Bro Timothy Spell told how he went to record a CD called "In A Special Way" in Nashville back in 1991.  Kevin McManus told him about this new song written by Rev. Mike Wilson who at the time apparently was unknown.  McManus played the song for him.  Bro Spell told him let's record that and he has been singing it every since.  This a very special treat where both singer and songwriter are singing this song together.  What a blessing this song has been to so many people.
